AlertMe Energy Launches!

Today we're pleased to announce the launch of AlertMe Energy, in conjunction with Google and British Gas. AlertMe Energy builds on our tried and tested home monitoring and control platform which has been used by our many satisfied customers largely for home security. It provides an affordable and simple way to keep track of your electricity usage and get the information you need to help you reduce your energy bills.

All you have to do is clip an AlertMe Meter Reader onto your electricity meter, and install an AlertMe hub (if you don't already have one) and then you'll have access to up-to-the-minute information about your home's electricity usage from your mobile phone or internet browser. You can also, if you want to, choose to upload your data into Google PowerMeter: the first self-install device that lets you do this. That means you can keep an eye on your usage every time you visit your iGoogle home page, without needing to login to AlertMe.

AlertMe Energy can be bought from AlertMe's online store (shop.alertme.com) and we've also teamed up with British Gas, so you can buy it from them by calling 0800 1070187. It costs just £69, plus a £2.99 subscription fee, or you can pay £99 and get your first 12 months for the price of 10.

It feels great to be launching AlertMe Energy: almost the whole company has been working on this for a number of months now, and we're really excited about what it offers, and I'm particularly excited about some of the more personalised analysis and advice that are on our roadmap for the coming months. Right now, AlertMe Energy, by providing online access, Google PowerMeter integration and connection with the underlying AlertMe platform is ahead of the competition. From here on, we're going to be increasing our lead -- that's my prediction anyway!
