Backstage at the IFA, the world’s largest consumer show
Samsung’s answer to the iPad is old news, this week it’s all about energy monitoring at the IFA.
Sony have set up an ‘Eco Wall’ at the event and will be demonstrating AlertMe Energy on their latest internet-enabled TVs, illustrating how you can view and monitor your home’s energy consumption with one simple click of your remote control. It’s the very first time we’ve had a public demonstration of our service on the ‘third screen’ (i.e. after computer and mobile) and as you can imagine we’re very excited.
AlertMe founder Pilgrim Beart says: "Connected TV - alongside mobile phones and computers - will be a convenient way for consumers to manage their homes. We're pleased to demonstrate, with Sony, how consumers can see and manage their home energy consumption at the press of a button on their TV remote control, as easily as they surf channels."
