Field Applications Engineer (North America)



AlertMe is looking for an experienced Field Applications Engineer to work with partners across North America as they deploy AlertMe to their customers.  This position would ideally be based in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley area but we are willing to hire exceptional candidates anywhere in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with partners to explain technical details of AlertMe's Energy and Home Monitoring system
• Work with partners to design an integration path to connect AlertMe into partner applications
• Supervise technical deployments for partner roll-outs
• Manage integration work to enable the AlertMe system to communicate and control additional third party energy devices (such as smart plugs, thermostats, hot water heaters, smart appliances, electric vehicles etc.)
• Work closely with AlertMe's engineering team and provide technical specifications for partner-specific integrations, new product development and North American product localization
• Monitor development of ZigBee and other energy communication standards and the resulting impact on AlertMe's connection to third party devices - specifically smart energy meters
• Work with customer support team to troubleshoot any North American-specific issues

Required Experience

• 5-15 years experience in either technical sales role or engineering role with customer interaction
• Demonstrated success delivering client-facing technical projects and/or launching customer-facing partnerships
• Technical aptitude to translate partner sales requests into actionable product requirement documents
• Experience working with partners to creatively solve integration challenges
• Comfortable presenting in customer-facing environment

Desired Experience (in descending order of priority):

• Experience deploying consumer-facing devices especially through channel partners
• Knowledge of energy sector, telco sector and/or smart grid
• Knowledge of ZigBee and/or other low power wireless communication protocols

• Self-directed and able to work well autonomously
• Take ownership of projects and find creative ways to work around obstacles to drive projects to completion
• Attention to detail. Proactive with a desire to make improvements.
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible; able to change directions quickly as the market evolves
