AlertMe helps consumers fight-back on energy price hikes with SmartEnergy including a free home display, free app and no monthly subscription
Saving energy and money is now easy for everyone as AlertMe puts the consumer in control.
London, 31 August 2011: With energy prices due to rise up to 19% this autumn, AlertMe, the SmartHome Technology Company, today announces its best ever offer to help consumers fight back. The new SmartEnergy kit (£49.99) will now include a free in-home display (worth £29.99), subscription-free personalised online energy monitoring service (usually £1.99 a month) and free iPhone App to monitor energy use and costs on the go. For existing customers energy monitoring subscriptions will now be free too.
Giving customers visibility with a display in the home and online to view anytime, anywhere is the significant first step in helping change how we use energy. SmartEnergy charts customers energy usage over time, helps to identify energy hungry habits, predicts monthly expenditure and provides personalised tips. AlertMe customers have shown SmartEnergy can reduce their electricity use in the region of 15-20% on average and much more in many cases, which could mean a saving of £100 or more on the average annual electricity bill.
In addition to saving money, the brand new black design kit, with its own online SmartHub, is the first step to making the ‘Smart Home’ a reality. The SmartHub allows customers to manage not only electricity use, but also add a range of connected devices such as SmartSensors, SmartButtons and SmartPlugs, using a single online secure user interface for remote control and monitoring . With the AlertMe SmartHub, the concept of a Smart Home is now becoming affordable and accessible to everyone for the first time.
Mary Turner CEO of AlertMe says: “Consumers are facing the reality of double-digit energy price rises across the board, putting further strain on family finances. It is estimated that between 20%-25% of energy consumed in the home is waste. AlertMe SmartEnergy is now even more accessible and by giving consumers visibility and control over what they use and what they spend we are determined to help bring down the UK’s energy bills.”
The new SmartEnergy Kit is available for £49.99 from 31 August on the new AlertMe website www.alertme.com . The site, with a fresh new brand, not only provides access to the secure online account, but also carries a whole host of information that anyone can tap into for a smarter, more efficient life.
Notes
The AlertMe SmartHub is compatible with fixed broadband enabled homes – 75% of homes in the UK now have fixed broadband. However, the AlertMe SmartEnergy online controls dashboard can be accessed through any web enabled device (computer, Smartphone or Tablet). Over 30% of mobiles and half of new mobiles are now Smartphones.
The AlertMe SmartEnergy App is iPhone compatible.
