ALERTME NOW AVAILABLE IN HUNGARY THROUGH MAGYAR TELEKOM Feb. 2, 2010
Partnership rolls-out AlertMe powered Home Monitoring services over the Magyar Telekom network
Cambridge, England and Budapest, Hungary– January 28, 2010 – AlertMe has partnered with telecom provider Magyar Telekom, part of the Deutsche Telekom group, to introduce the award winning AlertMe home energy management and home monitoring services into Hungary.
AlertMe will be enabling Magyar Telekom to extend the range of services they offer customers to include home energy monitoring and security services. Powered by AlertMe, Magyar Telekom – via its home-related services brand, T-Home – have launched their new service, branded Otthonőrző, to enable customers to view their home security information from any online or mobile device. The new service is now available through Magyar Telekom stores across Hungary with the introduction of home energy management services planned for later this year.
The initial AlertMe home monitoring service offered by T-Home provides home security options and includes:
• A hub, which plugs into the home broadband connection, joins all in-home accessories wirelessly to the AlertMe service on the Internet.
• The online service and AlertMe dashboard, accessible anywhere the customer has an Internet connection, allows customers to monitor and protect their home no matter where they are.
• An IP camera with a built in motion detector allows customers to see exactly what’s happening in their home at any time, no matter where they are.
• Keyfobs provide presence information, enabling customers to automate security behaviours.
• Motion detectors and door and window sensors monitor the home at all times and instantly alert the user if movement is detected while they’re away from home.
“Magyar Telekom is very excited to be able to deepen our relationship with customers by connecting them with their homes, and enabling them to not just view and monitor their home security but to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy bills as well. With AlertMe we are able to utilise our existing investment in telecoms and broadband networks to enrich the customer’s experience with Magyar Telekom.” Says János Winkler, COO of Magyar Telekom, Head of Consumer Business Unit.
“AlertMe is excited to be working with Magyar Telekom to offer consumers more of the modern converged services, such as home energy monitoring. We can see the potential for sophisticated networks like Magyar Telekom to increase ARPU with a new set of services that are differentiating, attractive and sticky.” Says Pilgrim Beart, Founder of AlertMe.
AlertMe Energy will be exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 15-18 February 2010 at the UKTI booth (stand AV26).
